How To......Text
How to change the pitch of your voice using Audacity.
Before you begin:
Audacity is a free program you can download from its website. Make sure you have Audacity downloaded on your computer and also make sure you have a microphone plugged into the appropriate jack. Without the microphone you will not be able to record your voice.
Step 1: Open up Audacity Program
You can open up Audacity by double clicking the icon of it on your desktop. If you don't have the shortcut for Audacity on your desktop then you can open it up by clicking on Start and then All Programs.
Step 2: Start recording
To start recording your voice click on the record button located on the control bar on the top of the program. The record button is the button wiht the red dot, just click it once and start speaking into the mic.
Step 3: Stop recording
Once you have finished recording press the stop button. The stop button is the button with the yellow square. Using the cursor, click at the end of the track you have recorded and then click and drag to highlight the entire recorded track.
Step 4: Change pitch
To change the pitch of the highlighted track, click on Effect which is located on the very top above the record button. After you click Effect a side menu will open up with different options. Click on the option that reads Change Pitch; this option will be the thrid one down.
Step 5: Adjust pitch
After you click change pitch another window will open up that helps you adjust the pitch. The pitch scale located near the bottom of this window. Click and slide the button to the left of the scale to get a lower pitch or deeper voice. Click and drag the button towards the right of the scale to get a higher pitch or higher voice.If you would like to listen to a clip of the changes you made and then click Preview. Just keep adjusting and previewing the changes you make until you have the desired pitch, then simply click the OK button.
Step 6: Listen
To listen to the entire track with the changes you made with the pitch click the play button which is the button with the green triangle. You ready to save and export your track.
Step 7: Save
To save your project click on File which is located on the top left hand side of the window. Then scroll down and click on Save Project As. Another window will open that will help you save your project. On this new window, beside the heading File Name, click on the box and type in a title for your project and then click the save button.
If you would like to export your project as a wav. file then go to File and then scroll down to Export As Wav. and click on it. Another window will open, on it beside File name, click on the box and type in a name for your project and then click Save.
Step 8:Close and celebrate
You are now finished and can close the program by click the X that is located on the top right hand side of the screen. Congraulations! You have successfully recorded and changed the pitch of your voice using the Audacity program.

Peer Evaluation-
I played and evaluated Akansha's game.
Briefly describe the game, including its objectives.
The objective of this game is to find the statue that is placed at the end of the game. YOu have to kill all the enemies to win the game. This game has parts of land, water and underground. Overall it was a pretty fun game. Good job Akansha!
List two strengths of the game. Two strengths of this game are that there are a lot of enemies but also many health packs which make the game difficult and fun to play. Another strenth of this game is that it is original and follows many factors of what makes a game enjoyable. This is a game you can play again and again!
List one weakness of the game.
One weakness of the game is that at if you get to the end of the game and left soem enemies behind you can't go back and kill them.
1. How was the difficulty level? Give one reason why.The difficulty level of this game was pretty balanced. There were a lot of enemies but the health packs were helpful along the way.

Evaluate
Describe your game (including a title). You are an alien who accidentally landed on planet Earth. You have to find your spaceship and get back to Mars, collect all the crystals along the way and kill the enemies that are trying to capture and take you to Area 51.
The name of my game is Final Peril, in this game you have to get to the resignated area as fast as possible. Killing all the enemies and collecting is not neseccary,the main objective is to find the escape pod. In this game there is a bonus stage. To get to the bonus stage you must find the keys to the door that are hidden somewhere in the game; get the keys, unlock the doors which unlock the secret bonus stage. In my game there are stages with water, underground and air.

What difficulties did you encounter while creating your game?
The difficulties I encountered while making my game was trying to make it fun. The concept "fun" was harder to grasp than I thought it would be. Another difficulty I encountered was figuring out the distance I should place the tiles for the player to jump. Sometimes the tiles were too high and the player couldn't jump far enough. Also, the website was giving some troubles at points while creating the game.
What did you have to modify or change from the original design?
As I started creating my game I discovered the escape pod and thought it would be more interesting to end the game this way. I initially wanted to make the game puzzling but could not do so because some of my ideas were not possible to do at Sploder.com.
Discuss two strengths and one weakness of your game.
In my opinion,the stregth of my game is that my game uses a variety of blocks and tiles. Also, my game includes stages of land, water and underground. A weakness of my game is that my game isn't puzzling or that much challanging, it is pretty straight foward.
What improvements could be made?
My game could be a bit more challanging and more lenghty. If I got a chance to make it again, I would also, like to add more enemies.

I think one of my strength in this assignment was that I made goals and accomplished them. Another strength of mine in this assignment is that I explored Sploder.com and became quite fimiliar with the site, I figured out different short cuts in making the game. A weakness for me in this assignment is that my game is short.I did well at putting a lot of effort and time into this assignment. I would have liked to done better at making my game puzzling and complex.

Plan
What will you do first? Why? I will first start of by designing the setting and environment of the game. I will add the obstacles and bad guys that the player will have to face. I will do this first because this is the main step for this project. I will need to this step first before I can do anything else.
How will you insure that you complete the project on time?
I will make sure that my game is finished on time by setting goals for myself and making sure that I accomplish them. I will also use my class time wisely and take work on my project at home to insure that it is complete on time.
Who will test beta versions of your game?
I will test the beta version of the game myself and with the help of my classmates. I will take the suggestions my classmates give me to improve my game. I will try to get more than one person to test my game because it is best to get a second opinion.
Will you incorporate other people’s suggestions into your game’s design?

After playing both Shooter and Platform style games, I found that the Platform style games were more enjoyable to play. This is just because that this type of game was more engaging and replayable. So I will be producing a platform style game.
What will it look like?
My game will take place in a cave. There will be some areas with darkness and some areas with water. I will also try to use various types of platforms such the ice, bouncer and crumbling rocks. My game will also include various bad guys. I will try my best to make sure the setting and theme of my game fit together.

One source of getting entertainment is playing games on the internet. The internet is flooded with various types of games. Some games are enjoyable to play while others not so much. I went on a "journey" to Sploder.com to find out what makes a game good. In my investigation I found different elements which make a good game enjoyable to play.
What makes a good game enjoyable?
There are a variety of games available on the internet, but what makes a good game enjoyable to play? First let’s get this point clear; everybody has different likes and dislikes. A game that I love somebody else might hate. So the factors in what makes a game enjoyable in depends on the player. After playing numerous games on Sploder.com, I got a sense of what makes a game enjoyable. The main ingredient in the recipe for a good game is originality. A good game should also have the element of surprise. Make your game unpredictable which will make it more interesting. The games that I found enjoyable all had one common element, they all required some mental thinking. It is good to make the game puzzling because it engages the player in the game. When making a game we should keep the target audience in mind' whether the game is for boys, girls, children or teens.Add a dash of good graphics and sound and sprinkle in a good title to put the final touches on a good game.

Soundtrack of My Life
1.Islam in my veins/Michael Jackson: This song is about Islam. It is important to me because every time I listen to it fascinates my Islamic spirit. I love the lyrics and melody of this song.
2.Dil Dil Pakistan/Junaid Jamshed: This song reminds me of my mother country, Pakistan. This songs says that we will never find such land and skies anywhere else.
3.O’Canda/Calixa Lavallée : Every morning when I stand up for O’ Canada it reminds me that I am Canadian. I’m very lucky to be living in such a glorious country. O’ Canada I stand on guard for thee.
4.The Climb/ Miley Cyrus : For me this song is about entering into high school. This song say that there is always going to be challenges and uncertainty in the future but if you work hard you can conquer anything that life puts in your way.
5.All izz Well/ Sonu Nigam, Swadanand Kirkire, Shaan : This song says that the heart is easy to trick, if your in a tough situation all you have to do is pucker your lips, whistle and think all is well! This song makes me smile and when I’m troubled I just think all is well.
6.Friends Forever/Vitamin C: This song is important in my life because it was played at my grade eight graduation. This song reminds me of all the wonderful times we had in grade eight and previous years. Even though we are now going separate ways we will still be friends forever.
7.New York/ Jay Z feat. Alicia Keys: This song reminds me of the first time I went to New York city. I was blown away by the lights and energy of the city.
8.Give me Some Sunshine/Suraj Jagan, Sharman Joshi: For all our lives we have been carry our heavy books and trying to get 99% in everything. This song is about growing up again but enjoying it to our full limits.
9.Now or Never/ Zac Efron : This song reminds me of the last basketball game I played in grade eight. All my friends were together on the team and we were very excited. We played our best that game and we won!
10.Send It On/Jonas Brothers, Selena Gomez, Demi Lavato and Miley Cyrus: I love the lyrics of this song, it has beautiful lyrics. This song reminds me that one person can make a difference in the world. If one person tries to be the difference then others will follow and this starts a chain reaction.

1.The country that we took birth in has a great importance in our life. We are linked with it emotionally and culturally. Even though I’m living in Canada, I still have a great connection with my mother land Pakistan. Pakistan has a very important place in my life. It is the place where I took my first breath. All my relatives are living in Pakistan. Also, I have a lot of great memories in Pakistan. I love going to Pakistan and meeting all my relatives.
2.If we look around god has given us many gifts. One those amazing gifts is a family. A family protects and cares about you. My family has a great importance in my life because they are always there for me in my time of trouble. They are very supportive and love me a lot. Whatever we do together my family has a lot of fun doing it.
3.A friend is someone who you can tell your secrets to. A friends is someone you can rely on, I have amazing friends! My friends and I have a lot of fun adventures together. My friends have a great value in my life because we always have an amazing time together and share lots of laughs.
4.On July, 29th 2009 my family and I planned to go to Minneapolis. I had been looking forward to this trip for a very long time. Also, my friends and their families were coming too. In Minneapolis we rode on huge roller coasters, touched sea stars, stayed in a hotel, played hide and seek in the hallways and had a lot of fun. This trip had an importance in my life because it was one of the most fun things I had done in a long time, we were all very sad when it was time to leave.
5.Immigration always has a big effect on people’s lives. New environment, new faces and a new life style. With immigration people lose things and gain things. When I was only five years old my family planned to immigrate to Canada to start a new life. It was a cold, snowy night the first time I stepped in Canada. This step was important and was going to change my life forever.
6.My school is important to me because it is where I get my education. At school I have my teachers that are ideal for me and friends that support me and give me company. School is very important because it is where I will make my career. At school everyday is a new adventure.
7.Everybody remembers their first trip to the circus. The lights, the noise and the smell of the elephant poop. The first time I went to the circus was a great experience for me. I had a great time watching the clowns and the stuntmen. That day I got to ride the elephant around the ring. I will never forget my first trip to the circus.
8.I spend most of my time in my room, it is great place for me to relax after a hard day of school. My room best reflects who I am and has an importance in my life. My room gives me a chance to escape the outside world. My room has everything that I need.
9.Eid is very important to me because it is great time of celebration. On Eid all Muslims wear their new clothes and go for morning prayer at the convention centre. On Eid everybody is very happy for completing a month of fasting. On Eid I get lots of presents but the best part about Eid is all the parties!
10.The day my brother was born was a very important day because I was going to get a new member in my family. Someone that I could play with and someone that I could boss around. My brother always makes me laugh and even though he doesn’t show it, I know my brother cares about me and I care about him. My brother and I always fight but we love each other very much.
